Coca Cola Sign (ca 1930) |
Coca-Cola Sign One attraction that draws artists, photographers, and interested tourists to Micanopy is the circa 1930 Coca-Cola sign painted on the north wall of the Thrasher Warehouse, located on Cholokka Blvd. at Early Street. The sign was painted by a Mr. Burke of Jacksonville, Florida, who painted many such signs for the Coca-Cola Company during his career. He worked freehand using only a string guideline. More information about Mr. Burke can be found in the Micanopy Historical Society Archives. |
